And yes, it has machining content. This is a totally new one on me. I got home from a job this afternoon and my wife said I had three phone calls today from someone desperately trying to contact me. I didn't recognize the name that popped up on the phone, so I called the number to see what was up. It turns out that one of the people who work at the shop where I buy a lot of my tooling has a side occupation as a magician. He has a show tomorrow, and as he was trying out all his props he discovered that one of his favorite stunt props was broken, and he needed a 1 mm hole drilled in the end of it. Once he had the hole drilled it could be repaired with a piece of fine wire. I said sure, bring it over. I have a dozen 1 mm drills, and was able to drill the required hole with only one (didn't break it) and fix it with a piece of .80 mm wire. I have repaired and built many things in the last 69 years, but I think this is the first time I've been called on to help a magician!!!

That's cool Brian.
Did you see the prop closely enough to figure out the trick? Did he say what the common name of the trick was?

One of my very first jobs as a kid was working in a magic shop. Hidden down an alley with no signs was a black door. Inside was the shop. It was cool working there that summer. I didn't make much money because I took most of my pay in tricks and special playing cards etc. I did learn how to run a Heidelberger printing press.Free software for calculating bolt circles and similar: Click Here
