    Glass Scale DRO encoder questions

I'm just curious if an Easson glass scale TTL digital encoder would work with an Acu-rite VUE DRO display.

Both use TTL logic, similar voltage and current ratings, square wave signals and A & B channels with 90° quadrature relationships.

One unknown may be in the way these manufacturers displays process reference marks.

Does anyone have experience working with these to address whether they might be interchangeable?

    Thanks,

You might be lucky if both TTL , the clincher is usually whether the resolution is compatible or settable to the new scale.

Pin-out and resolution might be the only problems, if both are TTL quadrature signals with similar voltage input, then that's it. Just connet Vcc, GND, A, B and Z correctly and done.
Amount of experience is in direct proportion to the value of broken equipment.

Incidentally Heidenhain has been taking over many of the encoder and scale read out companies including Renco and Accu-rite in 2009.
