    Bridgeport 2J head strip down...

Anyone know how to remove the fine-feed shaft from the head?

Also how to strip the back-gear - there is half a kilo of dried wax behind the big gear?

    Thanks

First do you have the housing half's split while holding down on the big gear remove the (pull out) the high low lever (remove the screws holding it in) now it should be able to be removed for dewaxing (grease removal).

Yes, head is practically 100% stripped.

So, do you need to remove big the timing belt pulley before or not?

It was a long time ago since I pulled one apart but I'm fairly sure you have to remove the big timing belt pulley to access the screws that hold the cover plate on.
