I am a fairly accomplished wood-worker, as well as my metal hobbies. I am thinking of building a Gerstner type chest to hold some of my better instruments/tooling. Does anybody know...Are the drawers on bearing type slides, or are they just a wodd to wood slide? Thanks!

Arbo,
I believe all the Gerstner chests are wood on wood. You can check their website. My O52 has wood slides. I also have my Dad's old Union and National wood chests - wood slides. Good luck on your project, you picked a good one. Wish I could find the time to build a riser for mine!
Regards,
Bob

The Sipco boxes have metal to wood slides. There is a metal slide runner on teh box and a groove in teh drawer.
