Ran across some chicks youtube videos and its apparent shes sponsored by Triton tools. Anyone used them before? Seems they are sold by Home Depot and rival Bosch prices. I rarely ever visit HD so I have not seen them before and was curious what was thought about this brand. Are they fairly new ? Where they made ??

thanks

IIRC they started in Australia back in the 70's and like everything else are now made in Taiwan/China and probably as good as Milwaukee,Bosch,Dewalt you name which are all also made In Taiwan/China.

I've got one of their routers, the thing is a beast. They make pretty good quality tools, they're a step up from what you'll find in most home centers. Can't say that I've seen them in home depot though, that's interesting

They were mostly know for their "Workcentre". A table to convert their circular saw into a table saw. Aimed at the handyman and tradesman market. Pressed top, easy to move around, etc.

The founder sold the company in 1999. There is a lot of Triton branded stuff now, so it's just another brand. Prices suggest the usual Chinese stuff.

Edit: Just found this from 2008

The Triton company was gradually shrivelling from 120 staff to less than 20, unloading containers from China.

The OP is most likely referring to April Wilkerson (https://www.wilkerdos.com/). Triton tools are not available at Home Depot. Some of her projects are sponsored by Home Depot which is where the confusion probably originated. Triton has been marketing their products in the maker community.

I stand corrected. They are in fact listed as Triton online retailer.

Yes that is her. If anyone wants a chuckle check out her series where she builds a carport. Soooooo many things just dont make sense.

Not bashing her as she states shes not an expert and simply a home DIY person. Also apparently sponsored by Lincoln.

They do the only hand held electric plane that's 6" wide, I used one and have been meaning to buy one, I've never got such a good finish, then I realised its got a 3 cutter block, awesome (available from screwfiix for this side of pond), the 1/2" router takes some serious cuts with a stair tread 95 degree cutter, you can't cut those in steps, the housing that is

April is perky, popular and posts a lot of projects. She makes mistakes, acknowledges them when they are pointed out and rips out code violations and
does it right. Some stuff is overkill. OTOH, she has gotten a LOT of cool tools from Triton, HD, Lincoln and others. Being popular has its perks.
Over the past few years, looks like about $10k in tools and stuff alone, not including lumber/ply/structural metal/shelving etc, some of which is
paid for, some donated at least by inference.
