In the video the welder is using two guns at the same time. He is using FCAW and running quite a long bead.

Nice... I'd like to see someone holding and feeding two GTAW torches though... That would be something..

That would be tig welding with a spoolgun. Whats the difference.

I wonder what type of wire they're using that requires slag removal. No cover gas? I hope the Chinese are building all their ships for NK that way. We may be shooting at them soon. :)

Probably flux core wire

Flux cored wire, pretty common on heavy industries like ship building.

And the guys welds look pretty good!

Looks like he's probably running dual shield wire which is very prevalent in heavy fab work. I thought at first that he might have some slag inclusion problems but he appears to have his technique worked out very well so as to prevent this. The welds look very nice.
He's definitely doing it right, and in an industry that looks at lbs./kg per hour of deposition rate he will probably score a few extra yen at the end of his shift if he can keep up the quality at a consistent pace.

Now if he could do one overhead an another vertical up or down.....:)

He does the exact same weld overhead here :)
