Don,

I thought that WAS the new software. Seems like a real streamlined interface without all those messages taking up space.

Loads fast, too, even on a slow dialup connection...search still doesn't work though

The great Karnac looks into the future......25% of the people will bitch because they don't like the new look. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

D. "Chaski ?? That thing still in existance ?" barley since the software upgrade, but then you already know that. Hope PM will not undergo a radical change that will have a similar result. Search function will be nice/helpful but vote not to include all the other glitter if it drives folks away. Chaski lost a lot of EXPERIENCE in the makeover there. IMHO

Steve, the worry of added "glitter" is a huge reason the upgrade was resisted all this time. But as it turns out Chaski is UBB "threads" and PM (and this forum) is UBB "classic", so the change won't be so drastic, if at all.

Oops...forgot to mention the forum direct link had to change with the upgrade. So, until you get that in your favorites, go direct to the homepage first....i.e. the page that says "click on lathe" to enter.

I completely forgot that page existed. What purpose does it serve?

That "other board seems to be back, and the search engine seems to be holding it's own.
As far as the Chaski board, I think everyone should wander by there from time to time, and post. No sense letting a good machinist board go to waste, especially since that one will host pictures by itself, a feature not offered by many.

Clicking on the lathe didn't work but clicking on the "index html" in the bottom left corner did.
