View Full Version : Bridgeport J-Head Pulley Belt Size?

I'm having trouble getting the belt down on the lower two pulley steps. There's not enough slack in the adjustment. When I select one of the top two steps, the tension bolt barely moves back--There's about one inch of the slot still showing. Seems like the belt should be 1/4-1/2" longer.

Also, has anyone used a link belt on the Bridgeport?

Found a BP belt on Amazon. It says the length is 34 5/8".

Found some notes when I inquired about one.

1 1/2" x 35 1/2" 72 degrees. PN#1-18-2120 2J868 46.

Some people use snowmobile belts but I think they are a lot stiffer and may have a different angle.

1 1/2" x 35 1/2" ?

That doesn't sound like the step pulley belt. :D

My step pulley J head has a 4L340 belt (that's 1/2" x 34" long)

The leading 1 is probably the quantity.

I thought we were talking about a belt for a variable speed head.
