Small compact LCD, color display works great... so far. How do you align the grid or the trace to Calibrate?. No knobs like a real scope. This one is Made by Sainsmart but I imagine all these little cell phone size ones are about the same.

The DSO nano DO is not perfect, but it's nice to have a small, portable storage scope for things like looking at noise on amplifier or power circuits and other low freq needs. At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and left over parts.

I am going to use on my CNC control circuit for checking noise.
Its been a lot of years since I used a scope so now I need to relearn PLUS learn those function's on this little one. I see a CAL function but it has no instructions other than selecting and having it work... but it does not align the grid or trace?Retired - Journeyman Refrigeration Pipefitter - Master Electrician

Here is the user manual for the DSO I have:
I have not used mine very much - it will work on a 9V battery but draws so much current it dies after maybe 1/2 hour. It would be nice if it had a power-saving mode. Using an adapter kind of defeats the purpose of a portable scope.
Unfortunately the plastic case was damaged and I had to glue some parts and file out some of the holes, resulting in some ugliness:

I thought about that sort of thing a while back, but found a 100 MHz Fluke Scopemeter, the wide screen type, for about $300. Feature set is far beyond the one-board units, plus I got 2 independent channels with 600V usable isolation between them.
Look around, the deals are out there.CNC machines only go through the motions.

Hi Jerry Merry Christmas from the land up north and still no snow. Kind of makes you get out of the mood for going South for the winter.
Mike this is what I purchased > https://www.sainsmart.com/collection...pe-touchscreen
Its very well made and the probes are pretty decent, its just a matter of forgetting after 40 years or so. I did not want a large bulky scope, just something to check Power supplies and now CNC signals and outputs. My question and I have been busy today and did not get back to, is aligning the grid with the trace or vise versa. Calibration.Retired - Journeyman Refrigeration Pipefitter - Master Electrician

Have you gone through the manual to find out what you need?
Looks like a nice product.http://pauleschoen.com/pix/PM08_P76_P54.png

The only downside I see is the bandwidth, but you cannot have everything. It's actually pretty decent as they go.CNC machines only go through the motions.

I had to swipe right / left to move my trace up and down because I did not have the Post Slide turned on.Last edited by wmgeorge; 12-26-2018, 08:28 AM.Retired - Journeyman Refrigeration Pipefitter - Master Electrician
