I was given this vice but have no idea who made it. It was stuck, but the screw rotated freely, but didn't move anything. PB Blaster got the jaws to start moving when the screw was turned, but they only moved about 1/2 inch. More PB tomorrow and maybe some more movement. Below are some pics, showing the only markings on it. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=4833&d=1552239116

Yep, that vice is "buying old stuff".

Dunno anything about the vise, tho.

Well, Ya gotta do something. I gave up cigars, booze, and Red Man on my own, then age and the blood pressure meds took care of the other one:(
As for the vise, I must have been looking at too many posts from the Brits.:)

Hi,

B&S compound sine vice. I had for a few years. I got rid of it because it was quite tall even on a BP and I think I got 3 minutes worth of use out of the compound feature. Not worth the shelf space to me.

Thanks guys, that's it. Wonder why B&S didn't put their name on it? Now I know it's worth restoring.

Was it not possible to separate the vise itself from the tilt base? I'm seeing pictures of #1's without the base when I googled for images.

The only thing that isn't frozen is the screw.
