I am trying to locate info on punch and forming presses. Table area/length as compared to tonnage. I would need a press that would handle a piece 3 to 4 foot in length. The material is not thick, 22-24ga., but the length of the part is the hurdle. Would a smaller press handle something like this with modifications?

Thanks,
Frank

Mine I bought, is 50 tons, bed is 36" wide. Slide is guided by roller guides on each side.

I have rewired it to joystick, automation control for a special project I have.

It is constructed with 10"x1/2" Ibeam with external straps reinforcing. Powerpack is a 4,000lb pressure 5hp unit sitting in a 5 gallon bucket. Solonoid valving is in bypass mode all the time untill a solonoid pulls in, then it travels up/dn as selected by joystick. It was used for forming chair backs in a furniture plant.

I have a unfinished press sitting behind this one. It is constructed w/5"x3/4" cold roll and no bed or cylinders as of yet.. The other one came along and I jumped on it for $250...

gypsie,
About how large (physical size) is your 50 tonner? And about how heavy?

Thanks,
