Hi all,
I am working on getting my SB9 changed over to variable speed and ran across a problem. My lathe came with a 220v motor which I am not using and I am getting ready to mount a dc motor with variable speed. So tonight I started to remove the pulley from the original motor and I can’t get it to budge. I soaked it with wd-40, tapped it with a rubber mallet and pried a little on it. It has yet to move.

So my question is, should I continue to try to get this pulley off or should I machine or purchase one? If this is something I can buy for a few dollars, I will. I have another lathe and I could machine one, but I don’t know how rare these things are. Dean

that thing on the shaft doenst look like the south bend pulley I have.
You could try some penetrating oil like kroil, and then use a puller to get that off the shaft.
