Somewhere I saw plans for a simple electronic edge finder, where an LED come on at contact. Did anyone else see them, and do you remember where? Any help will be much appreciated.

I use one. More electric than electronic - has a light bulb instead of an LED. Got it from Enco I think. About $20 if I remember correctly. Can't make it for that if you consider your time worth even minimum wage. And the tip mikes in at +/-0.0002": I'd have to work hard to do that accuracy.

I also use them. I think I paid 18.95, worth every penny. Enco, J&L, MSC and KBC all carry them. They also carry some that cost 200 bucks I have no idea what you get for the extra 180 bucks! Mine works just fine for me. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//smile.gif

You're right! I found the plans (PIM AUG '95) and for the parts and time, I'm off to the catalogs. Many thanks.
