I have a Nardini lathe which uses 2.5 mm or .10" shear pins in the gears. I have tried all of my sources locally, including MSC Direct and cannot find them.
I was going to resort to turning down 1/8th inch brass braising rod to make them.
Anybody have a shear pin source? or suggestion for a replacement?
Thanks-

Yankee,
You could be done by now.

Assuming that they are still in business, have you tried Nardini?

I needed a shear pin for a Clausing lathe and Clausing sold me a packet of them for only a few bucks.

Listen to Kap. Make them out of mild steel (cold rolled). It helps to make an undercut in the shear area so they don't smear and are easy to remove if they shear.
