Any one try one of these lathes yet? It is new to there line up. I thought it may be good for hobbie use?

I am curious as well. Has anyone who lives near the showroom looked one over in person?

I have looked at them at the Bellingham showroom. Looked like a decent enough machine. It is also very big and heavy. I didn't get to run it, but I do recall it being on my list of machines to consider.

I ended up with the G9036 (13"x40") which has been working out quite nicely for my purposes.

I've never seen any of Grizzly's larger lathes up close - only seen pictures of them. I believe from the pictures that the compound has the degree numbers / lines engraved or rolled on them and not the cheap metal tape rivetted in place. Can somebody who has seen a Grizzly confirm that for me?

i think this lathe is already professional duty, its not really hobby anymore, its obsession http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//wink.gif
