Finally installed the 65' Goodyear 1/2" air hose reel that I bought last year on my shop air system and added wheels to my HF 12T press.
What did you do today?

made a little stand out of stainless for a wood carving a friend did for me, sanded the wood and stained it. I think it came out really nice.
also went to the scrapyard to get rid of some alu scrap/ chips and some dead Christmas tree lights. Came home with some alu sheet 3/32 x 2x3.5ft), pipe, plate, some stainless rod, a cute little copper cake tin and this chunk of stainless (16lb alone!). 6lb alu and 17lb of stainless for $10 after taking off the $2.65 I got for my crap.
shortly I'll be making a mortar and pestle for the wife's Christmas present out of some 3" stainless round and some 1" stainless rod, also from the same scrapyard. I have to ration myself or I would have space to move in the garage.Last edited by mattthemuppet; 12-16-2018, 01:28 PM.

Assembled a 2T shop crane. Funny I bought this and I am going to modify it right off he bat. The extending legs did not fit under the pallet as I thought. Next step is to rebuild it so it can go around the pallet, the base is almost perfectly sized so it will be a relatively simple job of cutting and welding square tubing.

So, how do you plan to dig out all that stainless? I've been thinking of making one also, have the SS. I was thinking I'd waste out say, 75-80% by boring before moving to the radius attachment. But I've never tried it on a internal radius.I cut it off twice; it's still too short

If you don't have big drills bore it. You can draw it out and rough it in steps.
I have made a temlpate, with a mount then run a dial on it to follow the curve. I was making stainless bell ends to weld onto props for a race boat..
The freaking CNC shop wanted 180 bux to program before cutting.. think 1.25 inch long stacks out of 4 or 4.5 inch round stainless.. the machining time.
I madea template holder on my timem then did the job for less on a manual lathe.
Fast boats, the shop owners single engine Eliminator , ran 124 mph or so.

Anyway, all the above is theory. We'll see how it all works in practice

I ended up buying all my hoses last year so I'm already over-stalked. (TEKTON rubber which are OK but I agree, I should have got that hybrid stuff)
I hear they don't take kindly to mig welding. I have been decently rough with my flexzilla and it seems to be holding up great!. I honestly am not all that impressed with their hose reel (the big one with tracking), I'd rather have the standard thinner style with the flexzilla hose.
Use your reels and get at least one flexzilla hose to try out.Andy
