Oh my, what are the Canadians gonna do
The optimist says the glass is half full, the pessimist says it's half empty. The paranoid in me says somebody put a hole in it.

Remember pessimists are at heart opptomists. They know things can and will get worse.

We dont like hockey any more. We all watch smash down wrestling and still drink gallons of beer. Some of us will never watch hockey again were so pissed off at those bunch of money grubbin dumb asses. Our junior A teams play better than the nhl did anyways.

Yup, it's pretty much dead. It feels strange not watching the Red Wings, and I've followed the lockout closely, hoping for a solution. We Michaganders may be going through Red Wings withdrawals, but we've got another championship team to root for: The Pistons. Also, the Tigers are making a steady rise, hopefully this will be the season they start being competitive. I also hope the Lions will move up soon.

For the first time in a long while, there's optimism in Motown.

There's no over abundance of geniuses at the NHL. Both sides are big losers, the players association is the biggest. The NHL can still get lots of good hockey players for a lot less money than they are paying now if they decide to hire all new players. Instead of moving to expand their audience they just proved to the world and themselves (if they are smart enough to realize it) that the world really doesnt care if the NHL exists of not. College hockey is pretty darn good hockey and doesnt have the roller derby - all star wrestling element that the NHL continues to tolerate and which is keeping it from being the most popular sport in the world. I don't give a rats ass about any professional sport. Don't watch it, don't go to games, never will.

It's a shame we in the states couldn't be as lucky with baseball, football and all the other professonal so called sports. Now, if we could do as the Romans did, and throw the lawers to the lions,or perhaps the sharks. I believe we would have a winner.

Yes..I am suffering from hockey withdrawl...as a former player and a huge fan of the sport I can do this. But..I do have to laugh at the reality. They say they need the huge salaries because they could suffer a career ending injury at anytime and they would be in the por house for the rest of their life. Hmmm...do the math...how much will the average guy here make in a life time? Maybe 1 or 2 million? If you are lucky??? Some of these asshats make this in one year or less...and we are supposed to be concerned? I love the commercials up here now..."Support an NHL player"...funny as hell!
