HSM lists this reprint as its largest seller. Has anyone actually made Mueller'rifle? I'm trying to redraw part #3(finger lever) and having trouble making the geometry work out. Usually errors of this sort tend to be mine, but right now I'm chasing my tail. Carl

I'm also interested in it. Not much info out there from folks who have done it. So what's your impression?
Hell, I got a little shaper with an eye towards building one...

Hoffman: I found the error. Dimentions, 0.187 and 0.260 are transposed in the drawing on page 23 of the book. I have this project in the periodical and spent the extra $16.00 in the hope that the people making the money would have time to correct the print and issue an erratum. But noooooo. Carl

Thank you for letting us know there are dimensional errors on page 23.

Unfortunately, we sent the book in for reprint two weeks ago. Had we known of this error, we could have made the necessary changes.

For your information, we were made aware of two dimensional errors on Part 4 (page 30). The .275 wide notch is .275 deep (dimension omitted) and the .850 dimension for the slot (top view) is supposed to be the length of the slot and not the distance from the end. Those changes appear in the reprint.

    Thanks again.

I have the Muller No. 1 action about 1/2 finished. The main receiver is done and contoured, the breech block is done, the lever is done, and the barrel stub is done. It has been a long term project. Started about 5 years ago. The thing spent most of that time in the bottom of my toolbox until about a year ago when I picked up an Oliver die filer for $75.00. The die filer is the method I used to finish the two square holes in the receiver. I also built the Frank Dehass Chicopee in .22 Hornet. This was much simpler and I would highly recomend it as a starting project, if you want to build a rifle from scratch. The Dehass took me about six months from start to finish. Since it is of built up construction, it is not anything near as strong as the Mueller, but much easier to build since it has no square holes. It's an nice looking rifle also. I ran a thread in the Roderus Home Gunsmithing Forum with a lot of pictures. If you can search and find it you will get lot of information. I have trouble getting into this forum now since the format was changed. Good luck!
