Inherit a lathe and looking for help learning how to use this thing. Viewed dvd on the subject which helped abit. Is there classes or a group in the Los Angeles area? Work during the the day on weekdays so evenings or weekends would be best.

Check your local community colleges, there are still a few left that have machine courses. Some of the guys on here can probably recommend a book to learn from also, but I can't recommend one off hand.

The local community college teaches continuing education classes on using lathes, mills, welding, and a couple of other things I'm interested in.
