Over the years I always wondered how effective was the lubrication of two stroke(oil in the gasoline) engines. Going through my collection of string trimmers, I decided to scrap an old (35 years) Craftsman unit since it was way too heavy in weight and had hung in the garden shed for over 20 years without being run. I disassembled the engine and found that the cylinder, piston, crank, and bearings all still wet with oil and in near perfect condition. The only thing I did when hung it up was to drain the gas tank.
