You mean like Gardner Grinders?
No, I worked around themfor a couple of years. That was a production/incentive/operators job.
Those incentive guys would kill you for $.25. They were very possesive of their bonus.
They ground cast, and parted off piston ring blanks 24 hours a day.
Never saw a machinist run one.
It can't be that hard, it's only combination of some other machines.
You're a machine instructor so your bio says.

Jay, the poster said "question for production machinists", and although some with that pedigree hang out here, alot more hang out at PM. This is the "home shop" machinist site after all, isn't it ?
