Has anyone tried this with a 50kbps dialup connection?
Thanks, hfh
I must of been gone that day, but I see my neighbor was home.
Cool!
Man, what a resource hog. Too bad I don't have broadband.
Can you zoom in live on the playboy mansion? That would make it useful eh.
Actually I have been playing with this since it came out, me and my step dad found some clearing's that we didn't know about in are elk unit where we are hunting this Dec.

The last time I looked the satellite images are a few years old,but fun to play with.

it would be fun if the areas i was interested in had even decent resolution....stupid military base next tomy camping/hunting/fishing area!

Snowman, dont blame it on the military base - look up Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA - just down the road from me. High res all the way -- as is Cp Pendalton near Oceanside, CA. You can see crew members around the B-52's at Barksdale. looking to the north of the cantonment area you can see the museums's static displays of WWII aircraft including a B17. And no - there are no nukes in the ammo bunkers, just ask anyone on the base, they will tell you that quickly.
If you know where to look you can see my truck parked at a ladyfriend's house but my house is about a half mile out of the hi-res.![]()

Yes this is pretty cool. I've had Keyhole (that's what it was called before Google bought it.) for about two years now. I often mark places of interest and traveling to. I think Las Vegas is the highest resolution I've seen at one pixel = 6". There may be some at 3". The average age of the imagery is 18 to 24 months old. Some are as new as 2 months and others as old as three years.
Go with broadband. You don't have time for anything slower.
They say you really need a 128k connection minimum...So piss that dial up off and get Broadband...
I chase cows.
