    Post reversing Dunlap motor?

    Hey,
Can any one tell me how the Dunlap 1/3 HP Split-phase electric motor which came on a friends 6 inch Craftsman lathe can be wired to switch from forward to reverse and back and forth as needed. Presently it is wired to a simple on/off electric switch. What does he need to get to have the direction switching capability? Thanks in advance for your help. Fred

Can't be done if it's a shaded pole motor. The ony way to reverse a shaded pole motor is to reverse the armature end for end on the stator and that's not always possible without heroic metalwork.

If it has a high resistance start winding and a start switch, tease out the start and run leads and bring them out to the J box separately.
