OT: another pc question
I inherited several older computer main boards and processors and I am trying to figure out which will make the better pc. This will be normal desk top pc with color printer and usb scanner.
1.4 T-bird, 266 FSB 128K of L1 cache and 256K of L2 cache with a
Epox EP-8KHA main board. Chipset is VIA Apollo KT266. Or ECS K7S5A main board. Chipset is SiS 735 200/266mhz FSB.
1.7 celeron, 400 FSB 128k cache with a ECS LVXA2 main board. Chipset is a VIA P4X400.

The T-bird will out benchmark the Celeron by a lot, double in some cases.

Evan, thanks for the help on the T-bird vs celeron.
I just found the answer to the main board question. "From our benchmarks, it can be pretty easily said that the KT266A outperforms the SiS735 by a significant amount." http://www.onepc.net/index.php?view=..._id=101&page=7
Thanks, JPR
