Sears Powerhacksaw Coolant?

Larger power hacksaws used flood coolant. How much difference would coolant make on a little 12" power hacksaw? I use regular hand hacksaw blades.

I know that the big boys use flood coolant, but I just keep an oil can filled with cutting oil at my little band saw, just give it a squirt once in a while.

I use to have a Sears power hacksaw like yours. An oldtimer gave me a tip which worked pretty well and you might want to try. Roll up a 1/2 inch diameter tube of newspaper about 6" long. Plug one end and fill it with melted beeswax. The tube can be placed on the saw bed so the blade will cut into it as it cuts the metal. MSC sells a solid stick lube that would be even better. Don't know if you can melt it or not. Blades would last a lot longer and cut straighter with the beeswax.

Most indusstrial tool suppliers have the stick lube. I get mine from j&l or wholesale tool. works great. use it on a small 6" Jet hack/band saw works great on the armstrong ones to. also use it on sawsall for metal.
