Fun toy indeed - I'm planning to dig a 'pond' (couple of hundred feet across), also use the beast for digging out the canals, use it for lifting machinery off trailers etc.

I'd driven the 3 ton mini diggers before, this is exactly the same but smoother and with *lots* more power and reach.

Only snag is, the land is very wet right now, and it sinks in the mud a bit - should be ok in a few months.

Ah yes, Friesland, to be expected. Also the root home of the English language. Thanks a lot.

    The Excavator looks great!

Your swimming pool definitely needs to be skimmed though. When's the last time you checked the pH?

beats a shovel or should I say spade LOL
you have to understand that if you don't use one all the time or have access to on e to use.
It is some thing most of use have to have a project to do to get to play with. like when I built the shop. rented a trencher for the footings. a compressor and 110# hammer for breaking concrete, and a mini back hoe/front loader to move broken concrete and dirt. It was interesting using them and doing it from My point it was fun. but when I tell people that they do look at you like you are a little wierd! But than again laying in sand at the ocean or being in salt water when its 80F out is not my idea of fun. so I guess it all works out. but it is a really nice toy. only suggest get a bigger grease pot it probably has a whole lot of grease fittings. If I remember from the days working at the landscape supply.
