    Post Small Ebay gloat--or not?

Every once in a great while I get what I THINK is a good deal off ebay. Well, the most recent one was 11 Lennox bandsaw blades (11'8" X 1/2" X .025 10R/NEO) for the princely sum of $6.29 total (no shipping as they were only 10mi away!) I realize that these aren't bimetal or anything fancy, but from what I've read, this is a quality brand--probably much better than the typical stuff at Home Depot. I figure I will cut 'em up and re-braze to get 22 blades sized for my Jet 4X6 bandsaw--at less than 30c per blade. Well guys, did I do good???

Good deal! Personally I couldn't have a small machine business without E-Bay. Particularly in the realm of metrology equipment. It is so damn expensive for good quality (starrett, Mitutoyo) in the retail market. I might pay 30-40% retail on E-Bay if I am patient.
