Post Definition for "Silver & Deming "

Does anyone no what the word "deming" definition is and where it came from. You see it all the time on reduced shank drills for 1/2 chucks. And they are usually called "Silver and Deming"

"Silver & Deming" was the company that first made reduced shank drills. So Demings was a fellow's last name.

Thank you very much for this information! It was just what the Engineer ordered.

I am doing a 45 minute presentation on cutting tools and this is just the trivial that might keep some people interested.

    Thanks again,
    Kev
