    Question making end mills

I'm making a model gattling gun and need a .270" ball-end end mill which, of course, doesn't exist. Guess I have to make my own. Obviously it will have to be a straight flute cutter (no way to do a spiral) but I haven't been having much luck. Anyone out there ever had to do this? 'preciate the info.

Is .2756 close enough? That would be 7mm, and metric ball end mills are made. Also, it wouldn't cost a lot to have tool grinding shop resize a 5/16. Maybe you have a worn out one in your toolbox, that would be the ideal scenario.

Someone in your area must sharpen end mills for a living.
Find that kind of source and go through the sharpened endmills with a pair of micrometers & you should be able to find about any size you need.
If not have them grind one exactly the size you want.
If that does not work for you, I can provide that service for you.
