I just recently purchased a tool & cutter grinder. The name on the machine base is "george borton machine company Racine,Wis.Tool no.265-6". Any info on this company or this machine would be of great help in resurecting this piece of "old iron".

Are you sure it isnt Gorton rather than Borton?
I think your grinder was used for grinding pantograph cutters. Gorton Machine Co. was the manufacturer. G.M.Co. was bought out by Kearney&Trecker and a Lars Machine Co. was formed to manufacture pantographs and related tooling. I'm not sure, but I think an outfit known as Famco in Kenosha, Wi. purchased Lars.

Burnblast,
Your best bet is to go to famcomachine.com and send them an inquiry concerning the 265.

Thanks everybody. The name on base of grinder is Gorton. Had to scrape some paint and crud to verify this. Checked out the Famco website & their grinders look very similar to the one I have. I have an inquiry in & waiting for a reply
