    Question anyone using ART Cam?

I'm considering the purchase and need outside input. I hope to be able to cut aluminum molds for a jewelry mfg. and do some 3D engraving. I've got a MAXNC 15 w/ 4th axis, prototrak AGE2 mill, and a Maxym powerarm 4 axis router. Any firsthand experience?

I have looked at that software in the past and it seems to good to be true (price). I would make thm come and show it off before I spent my money.

I have been looking at the maxnc for a year now.
Can you tell me your opinion on it?
I want to use it for brass and aluminum micro fine engraving and 3d cutting. Is it accurate? any problems you have encountered?
    Thanks in advance.

My vision as a artist, my bridgeport 2hp is the best dremel tool I have ever had with the joystick in operation. I reversed the direction twice before I settled on moving the part to the head, I kept thinking I needed the head to move to the part. Simple it sounds but hand-eye coordination was screwy.

I just wish I had a large adjustable camera-magnifier system for it.

Not a cheap toy to build, thou I have a very large lens sitting here. Possible other uses are a shadow box for drills, some other contours like the tattoo machines? To locate holes? Drilling deep holes in the lathe make you need one. (perfect drill contour)

Ohh, and my purchased cnc software is Qstep for $65 it is a bargain.

    David..

There are some Intel Camera-Microscope products that have sold on EBay for $50. That might be what you could use. It is just a "toy"... but might do for what you want.
