Enco 9X20 good price?
Hi all,
I have the opportunity to buy a 9X20 Enco lathe with the optional stand for it, magnetic base with dial indicator a 3 jaw, 4 jaw chuck, power feed, tail stock, single tool post, 6 speed,forward/reverse, quite a bit of tool stock and cutting tools that will be included. Is $500 bucks a good price for it?

Sounds like it might be a good buy. Depends on three things -- condition, condition, condition!!!

Well, I had that lathe, and sold it having never used it only to kick myself in the ass later for selling, but now I got a South Bend, so all is good again.
Anyhow I sold mine never been used for around 700$

There is only one fault- Speed.
At 130 rpm, this is too high for many of the many tasks to which a small lathe will be put.
Mine- a 9180 which is probably the same is lying in a corner.
I tried to get around it by fitting a three phase motor and solid state converter- and blew the fuses in the bungalow.
Get a lathe which will run at half that speed.
