    Cool Just picked up a B.I.E. 12x36 need info.

    My Father and I just bought a 12x36 B.I.E. engine lathe (Barker Industrial Equipment
    ). We are looking for the owners manual for it and also a live center. Any Other Info that any one has on this lathe would be welcome. eg who made it. dates of manufacture and so on

    Assuming the taper is "standard" something-or-other, a live center shouln't be a problem... see www.mscdirect.com or www.travers.com or whomever. Lathe tapers tend to be Morse, although some are Jarno...and a few are weird.

    The manual may be another problem. Have you checked www.lathes.co.uk for info?
