It seems only just a few years ago when my wife and I were laughing our asses off when our daughter informed us she was having twins. We couldn't help but think in terms of the payback effect she would have for being such an independent and sometimes difficult child.
Today those twin grandsons of ours just left in uniform as Army Cadets for three weeks basic training and marksmanship instruction, one to Ontario and one to Southern BC. When we visited a couple of weeks ago we were present at their first Annual Inspection ceremony where they were promoted from recruit to private.
Time flies.
