    Default OT.Lost another Craftsman

Got bad news yesterday that my friend, Dick Wunderlich ,passed away unexpectedly during the big snow in Chicago.
You may recall Dick's big 1" scale railgun that he had at the NAMES and Cabin Fever shows.
Dick's work was impecable and ranged from woodworking to machining to casting. He could do it all.
Most important, he was a wonderful man, who tried to help all those around him in any way he could.
Last month I had the pleasure to ride from Chicago to York,PA in a van and sit next to Dick, whose soft voice and
vast mechanical knowledge will always be remembered. Besides his famous Railgun that Dick displayed in shows,
he had numerous finely detailed scale Artillery pieces he also made from scratch.
I am going to miss this guy...and I know others will too

I have found a photo of his Cabin fever display(2007) that was posted here(HSM), and wish to repost it,
although I do not have the authors permission.
I am sure he understands, in light of the situation.

Wow, Practically neighbors? I wish his family well.

Sorry to hear that, I helped unload the gun at NAMES last year and Dick and his wife seemed to be very nice people. The cart he had made up was something to move it. He did say that it was getting to heavy to move with out a lot of help.

Rich, I posted those photos you put the link up to and I don't mind you using them. I will repost them for others to see directly. He was a very nice man I agree. I met him in April of last year at the NAMES show and got to see the rail gun. Then I saw him again at this years Cabin Fever show with his new gatling gun and his Howell V-Twin. Both of them he started in April of last year and they were both finished. He had spent a lot of time in the shop building two big projects like that. I must have spent 30 or 40 minutes talking to him about his gatling because I'm building one also. He was quick to share a lot of the problems he encountered while building his so I wouldn't have to go through them too. THanks for letting us know about his passing.
