AC Induction Motor Poles

I'm going thru my VFD manual very slowly and was doing real good until I got to where it's gonna ask me to set the correct number of poles in the motor. Now I did have the motor apart for cleaning at one time but I didn't know there was gonna be a test!

It occurs to me there may a set number in that it's 1700 rpm motor vs say a 3400 rpm. Anybody know?

You have a 4 pole motor.

2 pole~3600 RPM
4 pole~1800 RPM
6 pole~1200 RPM
etc.
