    Nah, just air. It has a couple of other tricks though. It contains a booster transformer that supplies about 140 vac to the outlet (normal here is 120 on a branch circuit). This is to compensate for voltage drop on long extension cords when running power tools.

    There is also a big capacitor on the DC out side to aid arc striking. It charges to the full open circuit voltage and gives an extra zap at the strike as well as providing some filtering.

    Add a gas BBQ piezo striker to initiate arc, and you could damn near TIG weld with that.

    This isn't a good picture but the black heatsink at the rear is the diode bridge that I use on my Linde arc welder. The red box is a Lincoln high frequency box for tig welding. There is also an inductor that is not visible in the picture.

    When you get the time Evan, I (and I would guess others) would love to see a picture of the inside of that box.
    Maybe tomorrow. My garage is a total mess right now. I still haven't cleaned out a lot of the junk I brought home from my store.
