Ask her - maybe she has a project in mind. I keep hoping my wife will tell me she'd like to build a forge.

Safety goggles, or better yet, a full face shield as Brass likes to spray the operator with hot chips.

Try to think of something SHE likes, try to avoid the mistake of husband buying the wife a gift and its something house work related, vacuum cleaner, pots and pans, blender, mop, etc.

You could suggest a pair of appropriately sized turner's cubes for earrings. They are interesting and attractive, and would certainly give her the "I made these" bragging rights, but might be a pretty big challenge for a first project.

This is an excellent project because she's going to need a shaper to produce the cubes. Might as well introduce her early on to the escalating nature of this hobby. Any project that doesn't require more tools isn't worth starting.

You hitting on my ex wife?

If you want a cool job you get your woman to make some wind chimes.

she can part them off from old tent tubes, , polish them turning slow with a nice cross hatch pattern, drill cross holes. turn a plate and drill holes to hang tubes and tie it all so it works and make a wind catcher at the bottom with a saw, file, plasma or whatever.

    She might like it.

I think if my woman was in the shop all the time it would be time to build his and hers shops.
