Default Anybody have a M Head Bridgeport handy?

Need dimensions (rough) for front of table adjustable L and R table stops. I'd like to make them look right instead of a chunk of something...

    Its a round ram....

Am missing fine feed wheel, looks like worm too.. so will be back with more questions after I dig into it...

Most of the fine feed wheels were taken off so they didn't hit there heads on them. Its hard to fine one with it still on.

    There's a picture of one at http://www.lathes.co.uk/bridgeport/
Scroll down the page, and there's an M head.

Well, it aint a Bridgy, or even an M head.... but, its a pretty close copy and I suspect the hand wheels are VERY similar --- and besides I had this pic where I could get to it easy --- maybe it'll help.

You could make a spider instead of a handwheel - this one has enough mass so that you can spin it - with a gentle pull on the quill feed handle at the same time, I get about 3" of quill travel in one go.

    Default Thanks

    All good replys so far..
The way my mill drill was and M Head are, (without power downfeed) has gotten me used to working from left side of head. This makes it easier to use Fine feed instead of Quill lever for me. I also like the fact that quill can't freefall when wheel is engaged ...
My fine feed worm is missing ..I can make one with enough info

Once you start using that knee, you'll forget about that fine feed!

I went from a M/D to a knee ... had a couple buddies telling me I would forget the fine feed, -- say to myself, "nah, gotta have a fine feed--- " --- Well, I think I've used it once since I've had the mill. I put it on to take that pic, then took it right back off.
