If I'm not mistaken its the wave (vibration) thats set up on the
table that will, sooner or later, sync them all. They would've sync'd
on the tabletop but it would've taken much much longer -- suspending
it the way he did he on the cans took away a good deal of
dampening.

Mechanical wall clocks will do the same thing.

I think it happens to women when they live together -- they
all "sync up" lets say -- though I haven't the slightest idea
why. Probably not wave interference.

I can't remember where I've seen it, but part of the principle was being studied as a way to dampen the swaying caused by the wind or earth quakes in large buildings.
