How were you able to harden cold roll?

I'm curious as to why you decided to make this instead of buying one?

May be hard but cold roll does not really get hard, it just un-anneals. You may want to case harden it.

When you welded the handle on, how did you chip the slag off the weld?

May be I'm getting old or just plain tired, but I no longer enjoy re-inventing the wheel just because I can. I find the pleasure comes from being able to do thing that I would otherwise not be able to do or making something new or novel.

I'm not dissing your creation Airsmith, but just reflecting on how my value has changed over the years of being in this hobby. Is it just me or have others experience a similar change in their attitude?

iam sure i didnt get it all off but i used a regual hammer to get the majority off it

its looks good works good , i perfer not to spend money. if i can make a tool i will . reinventing something is not what this was about i needed a chipping hammer so i made one. as the cost of them is out of my range considering iam broke right now so making one is the only solution in my mind.. and besides i dont like the feel of the ones they have in the stores..

and the usual i have the equipment to make money and I learn more at the same time..

ill never make my own milling cutters or drill bits and other things only cause i would rater buy thoes things , but simple needed tools that i can make and i need aceess to i perfer to make ,,

the tool i made for workingon crosman airguns had to be made you cant buy the tool anymore and the design that was given to me to make one was very old shall we say so i made it 1000% better ..

with out the right tool or a way to get eh assembly apart you cant replace the pump cup..
