    Default Merry Christmas to all

You guys are a lot like an extended family to me. It's the only real social contact I have since I retired.

I did some messing around with the mill last night and today and engraved another copper ring. On it is engraved, in a fancy font, the Lord's Prayer in classical Latin. It's a gift to the first person that asks for it.

    Merry Christmas

    Thumbs up

That is really neat Evan. I guess some people might consider me borderline supserstitious when it comes to my religion. I always carry around a rosary and I am a "sucker" for this kind of thing. Carrying something like that around helps me be a better person and helps me feel closer to God. (Regardless of whether a God exists or not, I figure it helps me keep my "cool" and reminds me to treat others better)

I'll let it go to someone more deserving, but I just wanted to say that I think that is a fantastic idea. Merry Christmas to you too!

    Evan,

3/4" copper tubing, here in the States, IS 7/8 OD. I am not a big guy, but just tried my ring finger knuckle with a digi caliper and a 3/4 ID would slip over it.

I don't know if that is what DP wants. It would probably hardly matter. A biker would probably be satisfied to buy one and put it on a chain or keyring as a sign of support for one of their own, if they couldn't wear it, or, possibly go to a jeweler and have it stretched to fit their finger. It shouldn't distort your script too much.

    dockrat,

Now, THAT IS a pretty piece. Is that a floating wick, and is it with lamp oil in it?

Must be half the weight of the raw material.

BTW, as to jewelers, took a ring I wish to give to my granddaughter to inquire about shrinking to fit her finger. 14k and her birthstone, about 70 years old, beautiful, and they will do it for 18 bucks. I think that is a bargain. Hopefully, that will include running through the US cleaner.

    Cheers,

    George

Oh. I am Serbian Orthodox. My Christmas is not till Jan 7, my RELIGIOUS Holiday. My kids are all American Christmas celebrators. I celebrate with them, have "Little Christmas" with them on my Holiday.

I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, and I thank you for your Greetings.

(Since I started school near 60 years ago, I have never gone to school on my Christmas, nor have I ever worked on my Christmas. NOR, I might add, have I ever worked on your Christmas, tho' Holiday OT was offered. My kids came before any overtime. Truant officer would come to see why I wasn't at school, my dad would invite him in, sit him at the table, pour him a shot, and he would wish us Merry Christmas, go on to the next Slavic house, get another. He must have been sloshed by the end of the day. Irishman. I think he liked our Christmas. NOT a putdown!)

I'll trade you some shaper parts for one that says "Harley-Davidson" in block letters!

Actually you get the shaper parts anyway, but a 7/8" copper HD ring would be cool. I can build a presentation box for it and put it on my charitable auction site: http://EddieKieger.com/

Things like this have been known to bring in hundreds of dollars for the charitable fund.

I can do that Dennis but it will have to be 3/4 id instead of 7/8ths. I don't have anything at 7/8ths, I think. At least not in copper. No problem in brass or bronze or stainless steel. Maybe SS would be a better choice?
