Like I need a new hobby
I'm interested in learning more about the function and history of air rifles and pistols, just thought some here could give some hints on entry level resources.

I find reading through the archives of the Yellow and Vintage airgun forums is helpful. There are a number of different sites that have a variety of airgun history, http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/ , Beemans.net, http://www.muzzle.de/Allgemeines/Exp...planation.html
etc. You'll come across many links on the various forums, just take the time to explore them.

That Beeman's site seems to be just what I was looking for. I guess I could have used a search engine, but thought I might get better biased results here. Thanks for the reply.
Hi
I shoot Benchrest air rifle which I enjoy very much. Many of my friends shoot metallic silhouette with air pistols, also a lot of fun. I also make things for my hobbies related to shooting. You can get into pistol silhouette fairly reasonable. Benchrest equipment is fairly costly.
When we shoot Benchrest the scores are forwarded to US Benchrest Headquarters where they are compared on a national level.

I bought my first Air Rifle a Beeman R - 10 many years ago, I bought the deluxe model and sure had a whole bunch of trouble with it. Poor Blueing springs breaking a LOT. Anyhow i would stay away from beeman and perhaps buy something like a TX 200 by air arms Nice springer Gun or a air arms 410 xtra sweet gun.
