I saw a Bridgeport on ebay with a #7 b+s toolholders. Does this mean the spindle taper is #7 b+s? I believe it was a m-head.Thanks Boys

Quite possible as B&S taper tools were very popular in the old days. Email the seller and ask them if that is the spindle taper.

I think the early B'ports, made by Adcock & Shipley were offered with a B&S #7 as an option.

Almost certainly. I have a 7-B&S M-head. They also came with Morse #2 and B-3 tapers. (B-3 looks kind of like a scaled down R-8.) All have a maximum 1/2" capacity.

Uh,you may want to hold on to your money and get a r-8 or nt30/40 machine, much easier to get goodies for.

You can get B&S #7 stuff. What do you need? About three collets -- no problem. A drill chuck -- get one on a 1/2" straight shank to go in the 1/2" collet. A boring head? B&S #7 shanks are available. With that size head, you aren't going to be able to drive a hunga big face mill, anyway.
