    Default Visa Mill?

Hi, new guy here. I'm looking at a horizontal mill with a vertical head attachment. The only name I can find on it is a plate on the vertical head attachment with the name "VISA". The guy who's selling it seems to think it's Italian. It's heavy built and runs on one motor. It has power feed on x,y and z axis. Looks like it weights 3000 lbs. or more. Has anyone heard of a VISA mill? Thanks, Bill

O.k. this won't help you but let me be the first one. My VISA (bill) also weighs about 3000 lbs. That said, Have you checked the lathes u.k. site there may be something there.

Could be a "Versa Mill" I seem to recall an article in HSM about using one.

I am not familiar with a Visa mill, but the VersaMil is a tooling system which adds milling capability to a lathe. They are made in several sizes. A VersaMil milling head might be adapted to a horizontal milling machine. They are not cheap.
