    Default o/t motorcycle tires

    Hi
I have a Suzuki SV650 and I need to replace the tyres in the next few days.
Just wondering what some would suggest.
Thinking about the Michelin Pilot Road 2
Looking for something that is middle of the road
that will give me good traction and somewhat good wear

The Bridgestone BT45 is a dual compound tyre (hard centre soft sides) and is an excellent all round sport/touring Tyre.

Ian, bloody hell I remember using Avon Speedmasters (nicknamed Avon Deathmasters) on a moped many years ago! Frightening things they were too, very square profile which was fine as long as you didn't want to go around corners

Speedmasters had circumfrential grooves? Safety mileage were the blocky flat rear ones. Want me to go take a pickky??? -------- WHIMP

    Christ Ian,
That's a rave from the grave, Safety Mileage tyres, I can remember having to cut 3" off the top of both my wellington boots and the stop light wire of my bike and my brothers to repair a 6" blowout gash by lacing it up like a boot

Got us back from Mallory park, Race of the Year, to Nottingham.

We ad it tuff, I remember earolin on corners on the Velo with S/M's, (remember fallin orft the bu**er an alll) none of these whimpy triangular thingies in varifocal grades. Tyres were hard or harder. (Or like dust if they were secondhand and had been stored in sunlight)

    Regards Ian.

The Pilot road is a good harder tire. Last a really long time, but you do sacrifice some grip. They do make the road in a 2CT, 2 compound, which I will buy next time. (I have the regular roads)

The Pilot power is the next softest compound. Excellent traction, but 5K miles is all you will get.

    I recommend any of them!

I have the BT45s on another bike. They are OK, just don't perform like the Pilot series does. They do make them in many smaller sizes, which is nice. They would be my second choice.
