Let's face it, if I saw that vortex in the sky, I'd assume the LHC was just fired up and one of them dang black holes escaped.

It looks like a home made pinwheel using a balloon. I've made several and that is exactly what they look like.

Here is an interesting photo I captured recently. I think it really looks cool. It isn't retouched in any way, this is how it came out of the camera. Any ideas?

Those flares look like the kinds of reflections you get when your camera is too close to a window and with too much light in the room behind the lens.
