Hello
I have two southbend shapers and neither one have felt wipers on the ram, they just have the brass plates. The screws on both of them are to short to allow a felt of 1/8" to fit. The army manual shows wipers on the parts list but I am wondering if they stopped putting felts in later in production, or is there some reason people would remove the wipers on these machines and not replace them. Have any other southbend shaper owners found there ram felts have been removed.
