flather lathe
hi, a newbie here. just got my first lathe, a flat belt and babbitt 14" flather. anyone have any thots on where to get info as i tear it down? already stuck as to how to get the quill (?) out of the tailstock. this is my first venture from the owwm thread into the land of metal heads.

Crank the tailstock handwheel counter widdershins and it will come loose.
BTW, a bit of tool envy is creeping up my back. Yeah, needs work, but it is worth it.
And, yeah, it isn't often that I handle 4'x8' pieces of metal. Should fit OK.
