This is soon to be mine, about eight weeks or so. It is a specialized "rubber injection molding machine." It differs in many respects from a thermoplastic molding machine.
More or less it's on "clearance sale" through the dealer... get it out of here now or we scrap it.
They will replace the PLC for me, and ensure it works before it leaves the workshop in Ohio.
That's eight weeks for me to raise the roof over the back end of my workshop to accommodate this monster. Fortune smiles on me as the town said today they will fast-track my permits (ready Friday) so long as I hire one worker and retain him/her/it for one year.
Contractor comes out tomorrow to begin planning and then working. Rigger... lined up and ready to un-truck the monster and re-assemble the tower.
The 800-tons is not the weight of the machine but the clamp tonnage. The "press" portion can lock a mold shut with 800 tons of force. The tower can shoot 30 pounds of rubber in a single stroke.
The PLC needs a direct plug-in replacement and she's good to go. Motors run, heaters heat and the moving parts move.
...it's a monster, and I have three contracts coming down the pipe for it, with two more "being finalized."
Not many people do thermoset rubber in this area... let alone thermoset rubber in this size.
Gloat gloat gloat. mine's bigger than yours... gloat gloat gloat.
